As soon as the winter session began on Tuesday morning, opposition leaders created a ruckus over the suspension of 12 MPs. Opposition leaders raised slogans in the House and demanded the withdrawal of the suspension. In view of the ongoing uproar by the opposition, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm.

After this the opposition leaders took out a march from Mahatma Gandhi statue to Vijay Chowk. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi joined this march wearing black clothes. During this, Rahul Gandhi said that the Modi government is not allowing the opposition to raise questions.

The Prime Minister does not come to the House. This is not the right way to run a democracy. This is the murder of democracy. He said that the MPs have been suspended for almost two weeks. He is constantly sitting on dharna.

They were accused of vandalism inside the house, throwing paper on the seat, dancing on the table and indecency with the marshal. The 12 MPs who have been suspended from the House for the entire winter session are Elamaram Karim of CPI(M), Phulo Devi Netam of Congress, Chhaya Verma, Ripun Bora, Rajamani Patel, Syed Nasir Hussain, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Dola Sen of Trinamool Congress. and Shanta Chhetri, Priyanka Chaturvedi and Anil Desai of Shiv Sena and Vinay Viswam of CPI.
