Liquor shops will remain closed for three days in the capital Delhi. The Excise Department has decided to ban the sale of liquor from Friday to Sunday due to the MCD elections.

Voting is to be held in 250 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on December 4 i.e. Sunday. The counting of votes will take place on December 7. In such a situation, there will be a dry day on December 7, that is, it has been decided to close liquor shops.

With this, Delhi Excise Commissioner Krishna Mohan Uppu said on Wednesday that under Rule 52 of Excise Rules 2010, there will be a dry day in Delhi from 5.30 pm on Friday, December 2 to December 4 at 5.30 pm.

Not only this, there will be a dry day on 7th December i.e. the whole day of the results. That means there will be a ban on the sale of liquor.

Please be informed that this time 1336 candidates have taken part in the election. Among the candidates running in the MCD elections, 56 percent are 12th pass candidates.

On top of this, there are 60 candidates who have never attended school, six PhDs, and 12 diploma recipients. Only 36 percent, or 487 candidates, have completed higher education. There are 20 who are literate but have never returned to school.
