Dilip Chhabria, popular car designer and founder of India’s most renowned car modification studio ‘DC’, was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Barch in a cheating case on Monday. Crime branch said that there are more accused in the case.

A high-end car linked to the case has been seized by the police and is currently parked at the Mumbai Police headquarters.

Chhabria, known for giving futuristic makeovers to cars, was arrested under section 420 (cheating) and other relevant sections of forgery under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Mumbai police officials have, however, refused to divulge any further information on the matter.

Sources said Mumbai Police will address a press conference regarding the case on Tuesday and reveal more details.
