Former Shiv Sena district chief Anurag Sharma was allegedly shot dead by two unidentified miscreants in Rampur on Wednesday, the police said.Minutes after the incident, Sharma was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. Uttarakhand: COVID-19 tally rises to 120 after nine test positive

Nine more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Uttarakhand on Wednesday taking the number of cases to 120. The latest cases were reported from Uttarkashi (1), Haridwar (1), Udham Singh Nagar (4), Almora (1) and Nainital (2) districts, a state health department bulletin said. Most of these cases have a travel history to Delhi and Mumbai. It takes the total number of cases in the state, so far, to 120 out of which 53 have recovered. The number of active cases stands at 53 with one coronavirus infected patient having died few weeks back. There has been a sudden rise in the number of cases reported daily in Uttarakhand since migrant labourers began returning to their homes. 6 more COVID-19 cases in Uttarakhand, taking total number of cases to 88

With six new corna cases reported on Saturday, the count of positive cases in Uttarakhand has climbed to 88, said the Health Department.According to the health bulletin, of these 88 COVID cases, there are 36 active cases. So far, 51 have recovered and been discharged.At present, 49,176 people are under home quarantine and 4,660 are in facility quarantine in the State. 6 new coronavirus cases were reported as of 8:00 AM on May 15 in Uttarakhand, according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The new patients include a 36-year-old woman who had returned from Delhi to Mussoorie as well as two others who are from Raipur and Old Dalanwala area of Dehradun. Three other migrants have tested positive from US Nagar, including a 10-year-old girl. On Thursday Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman  unveiled the second tranche of fiscal stimulus, emphasizing 'one nation, one ration card. The second tranche detailed relief measures for the migrant workers, farmers, street vendors, and marginal traders. Introducing national portability cards under the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme, Sitharaman said workers in any part of the the country can avail ration. The scheme covers 67 crore beneficiaries in 23 states, with 83 percent of the PDS population to get access by August 2020, and 100 percent to be achieved by March 2021, she said. LPG, aviation fuel to get dearer from today

Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices were increased by 2.6 per cent on Wednesday to Rs 64,323.76 per kilolitre from Rs 62,686.51, while non-subsidised LPG gas prices were hiked by Rs 19 to Rs 714 from Rs 695. The revised LPG prices stood at Rs 714 per 14 kg from Rs 695 in the national capital. The prices stood highest at Rs 747 from 725.50 in Kolkata, followed by 734 from Rs 714 in Chennai. LPG prices in Mumbai were the lowest at Rs 684.50 from Rs 665 earlier. According to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) notification, aviation fuel will cost Rs 70,588.61 per kilolitre in Kolkata from Rs 68,812.61 earlier.
