After months of staying in the testing phase, Microsoft’s cloud-based gaming platform is ready for release. The company has said Project xCloud will launch on September 15 for Android devices. The platform will be available as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which is available for $14.99 ( 1,125 approximately).

Microsoft’s Project xCloud will debut with more than 100 games for Android devices which include phones and tablets. There is no word on when the platform will be available Apple’s iOS and iPadOS.

According to TheVerge, Microsoft’s xCloud will be referred to as ‘cloud gaming’ feature of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service. On September 15, it will be released in at least 22 countries which include the US, UK, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and others. The list does not include India but Microsoft has already confirmed it is working with Reliance Jio to bring Project xCloud to India.

Some of the games confirmed to be available through Project xCloud are Minecraft Dungeons, Destiny 2, Tell Me Why, Gears 5, Yakuza Kiwami 2, and more.

According to Microsoft’s FAQ website, Project xCloud will also be available through Samsung’s Galaxy Store. Microsoft said that it will make an xCloud-related announcement at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event later today. The company has reportedly teamed up with Samsung to bundle xCloud with the new Galaxy Note 20 series. A formal announcement is expected soon.

To make the mobile gaming experience more seamless, Microsoft has partnered with Razer, PowerA, 8BitDo, and Nacon to roll out new accessories that are specifically designed for cloud gaming. These accessories can split apart and attach to the side of your phone. Gamers can also play with their existing Xbox One Bluetooth Wireless and PlayStation DualShock 4 controllers.

“Cloud gaming as part of Xbox Game Pass is the next major step in our ongoing vision to put you at the centre of the experience, to give you more value from your games and membership, and to remove the barriers from play. Last month we laid out our commitment to you and announced cloud gaming, powered by Project xCloud, will be part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at no additional cost,” said Microsoft on its website.
