Pokemon Go creator Niantic is testing a new feature that guarantees daily content for players who log in every day. The announcement was made on Twitter on Thursday and mentioned user-specific encounters and free gift boxes amongst other features that are being tested on for some players.

Niantic added in the tweet that these features were being rolled out to continue their efforts to adapt Pokemon Go gameplay to individual settings since. Thanks to the global lockdown and social distancing rules in force due to the ongoing pandemic, Pokemon Go players have mostly been playing individually and the game has factored that in mankind a whole lot of changes in-game to adapt better.

Players will know they are a part of the new tests if they get an in-game visit from Professor Willow to discuss a special kind of incense. Incenses are special attractants that players can use to attract more Pokemon to them and are usually collected from Pokestops or can be bought from the in-game store.

Niantic has pointed out that this incense won’t appear in your item bag and will only be active after Professor Willow gives it to you. This particular incense will attract a particular type of Pokemon once a day that will only appear for you.

The game is also testing a feature that will give a different group of players a free box of items in the Shop. Players selected for this will be able to see a notification in the shop announcing the free box and they can just claim it. These boxes contain berries, pokeballs etc.

Both these features will roll out more widely over the next few months.
