The Jungle Book is back on Doordarshan from April 8 at 1 pm. The show, adapted from Rudyard Kipling’s book of the same name, will be aired every day at the same time on DD National.

The popular anime show holds an important place in the childhood memories of all the 90s kids. It was a significant part of their Sunday mornings, which began with the famous song Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai.

The Jungle Book was made in Japan and originally aired from 1989 to 1990. The show became popular across the world and was dubbed in various languages including Hindi, which was first aired on Doordarshan in 1993.

Apart from The Jungle Book, kids can enjoy Mukesh Khanna-starrer Shaktimaan, which is aired on the same channel at 8 pm every day. Other shows, which was back on DD National are Ramayan, Buniyaad, Nukkad, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Shrimaan Aur Shrimati and Byomkesh Bakshi.
